Godparent

So when i started to go out with Shaun he introduced me to his close friend Nicky and his partner Sharon. They had just moved house so Shaun was round there alot doing jobs for Nicky as at the time he was rubbish at DIY. Anyway i ended up going round there with him and sat and chat with Sharon while Shaun did jobs. Anyway Last year they found out they were going to have a baby and they asked me and Shaun to be Godparents. I was a little taken a back as i had only know them a couple of months but they asked me anyway. Well Me and Shaun split up and i still kept in contact with Nicky and Sharon. I asked them out right if they still wanted me to be godmother as i was not with Shaun any more and guess what they still wanted me. I was so happy as no one has ever asked me before and i think its a big thing. 

 So along came 22nd November 2011 when my gorgeous Goddaughter Lexie was born. 

Well yesterday 1st May was Lexies Christening. It turned out to be a lovely sunni day. She looked so cute in her little dress. Here is a few photos of the day.

Finshed album

This is the finished album i started at Donna Downeys workshop. I loved how this album turned out. So simply and not over packed with stuff. I decided that i wanted this album to document my trip to London. So the photos i like the most have gone in here. 

Inspiring

I have no idea where to start this post as i have got so much to say.

Let me start by saying I can't believe that i got to meet the really inspiring Donna Downey this weekend. I have been watching Donna for a long time now and i love all her work. I took Donnas class on Big picture last year and i just loved all the projects we did and learning all new techniques. So when i saw Donna was coming over to the UK i just had to get myself a place on the class. This was also going to be a big thing for me as it was in London and im not good traveling new places.

So the class i choose to take were on sunday and monday so we had to go up to London on Saturday morning. I must admit that i am not really a morning person but on Saturday i was up early doing my hair and getting everything ready. These next three pictures are of me, mum and dad waiting for the train at the station. I know the pic of me is a bit blurry but mum was taking it and she went a little wobbly.

We got to King Cross station and it was nice and sunni. First stop we made was to Costa Coffee for a drink and a bite to eat. After we went looking for are hotel we stayed in a travel lodge not far away from kings cross. The Hotel was ok for what we needed it for and that was just to sleep in really. We dropped are bags off and head out for Lunch. Just up the road was pizza express which is always nice.

I have always wanted to go to the craft show at Alexandra Palace (ally pally) but i just never got round to going. This time i was looking as the show was on at the same time as we were in London. So saturday afternoon we jumped on a train and took the free bus to Ally Pally

This picture woz on the train to Ally Pally these are my new shoes i got to go to London with and by the end of the weekend my feet were killing me. Lets just say im not were new shoes again if i am going to be walking alot.

I must admit that i was a little bit sad as i have always heard that this show was very good but for me it was a let down. I would soon go the the paper craft show in Harrogate.

Now on to Sunday the big day when i get to me my favourite artist Donna. I had booked to take two classes on the sunday. The first one was inspirational journal. Which i liked as i am always watching Donnas wednesdays inspirational journal videos which she does on her blog.

We got a journal in this class and instead of just giving us one we got to pick which one we would like.

Donna showed us how to do transfers which i was a little nerves about doing but as you can see in the picture below my flower turned out really well. The transfer was just in the background so was not ment to stand out a lot so to make it set in the page we did a white wash over it. Also in this class we got a free fountain nip and handle. I was looking that Donna choose my page to show how she writes in her journals using the fountain pen.

The next class i did on Saturday was an album and inside we used Donnas iron ons from prima. There was only four of us in this class so it was really nice as we got one to one with Donna and chatted about stuff. I did not take any photos of this class but when i finishes the album i will post photos.

This class did not finish till ten at night so by the time we got back to the hotel we was really tired. 

You might be thinking what did my mum and dad get up to when i was having fun. Well lets say they did a lot of walking and had loads of coffee.

The next class was on monday morning this class was a hand made album instead of one made already .I liked this class but did not finish it as i never took any photos with me to London. This was becasue i was not sure what i would use the albums for.

At the end of the class i gave Donna and Bill some little gifts i had got them and the kids. I got to get my photo taken with Donna but know i wish i got another one with bill as well.

I must not forget to mention Claire in this blog post as she was one of the organisers. She is a very bubbly person and was so easy to chat to. I wish we had a photo taken together but i missed out this time maybe next time.

After my class was finished on the monday we went and had a walk round covent garden. In the next to picture are really life people who stand for ages in one spot. They do move tho when you want to have your photo taken with them.

On monday the antique market was on and if you know me you know i like any thing old. Anyway there was this stand with loads of old printing press letters. I loved it. I ended up buying the word create in different size letters will post a picture of that next post. I also got a picture one with London bridge which is kool.

For lunch we ended up at Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant which was so kool. When we walked in i joked with mum that Jamie was there and she was like were i cant see him.

By the time we got on the train to go home we were feeling a little tired. I have got to say a big Thank You to my Mum and Dad who came with me and walked round covent garden for two days just so i could have my wish come true. They are the best parents ever.

Mother's Day

This year i decided that i wanted to make my mum a gift because i think it will mean more to her then me going out and buying flowers. Anyway when i took Tim Holtz class at Art From The Heart i picked up one of Tim's configuration boxes. I have never done one before but i loved the look of them so i thought i would have a go. I used Prima Marketing Madeline paper collection and some flowers which go with the paper collection and then just flowers and butterflies i had in my stash.

I thought it turned out really well and my Mum loved it. It is now sitting on the fireplace so she can see it everyday. I also made her Mothers day card out of the same collection pack. I saw this design on a you 

tube video by starofmay. Must admit the circle could of been a bit bigger but i did not have a larger punch.

Adventure for 2011

Ok so in just 19 days i will be having a little adventure by traveling down to London for the weekend to take Donna Downeys classes. I have always been a fan of Donna's for a long time but i have never got to meet her before now. The event has been organzined by your-creativemoments and is being held in convent garden in London. I have booked three classes two on sunday and one on monday morning. 

We will be going down to London on the train Saturday morning. Dropping are bags off at the hotel and then heading straight to Ally Pally to the craft show which is on for the weekend. I have always wanted to go to Ally Pally as it is one of the largest craft shows in the UK.  So this weekend is going to be an amazing andenture for me. I am also taking my mum and dad along with me and we will be doing a little site seening while there. I might even get my mum to come up on the London eye with me but im not sure. My couson also lives in London so we will be meeting up with her for a catch up.

Girly Day Out

So today me and my mum had a girly day out. First we head to hobby craft to have a look round. I am in the middle of doing a calendar for myself and need something to attach the calendar on two i.e. removable adhesive or something. In the end i forgot all about it but i did come home with some hot glue for my new glue gun, three foam balls (project coming up) and a Slice Die card which woz in the sale.
Then it woz off to Meadowhall to have a little look at the sales. When we got there it woz about time for lunch so we headed to pizza express. I always have a pizza with a salad in the middle. Then we went and did a bit of shopping. We stopped for Coffee at costa which woz nice and a naughty slice of lemon cake. Mum got a hot chocolate which woz not very nice so we shared a latte. Every Christmas the Body Shop comes out with Cranberry body wash which i love. Well they had it in the sale so we stocked up on in i think we saved about £24 pound in the end. So now im going to be smelling nice for months.

When we got home we popped round to see the boys. Henry is trying to roll on his tummy now which is great. Archie likes to line all his toy men and animals on the coffee table.

I came home early with mum as i had to go to a weight watchers meeting. I woz a bit nerves as i had not been since before christmas. Went in and there woz a new lady there Julie who i know from another meeting and now she is going to be are new leader. She is great and im happy to have her. Anyway she weighed me and said i had put 2lb on and i said u sure and she re checked and she made a mistake i had stayed the same weight. So i am really happy that i have not put any weight on over Christmas. Now all i have to do is work my butt off and loss weight.

Dad decided to then take me and mum out for tea. He took us to a local pub we like which has great food. I ended up getting a fillet steak which woz yum. We did not have pudding tho we just came home.

My favourite tv show Silent witness has just started again on BBC1 which is great. We have just watched the last part of a two parter tonight and it woz gripping.
