Happy New Year

There is only an hour left of 2010 and I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I am at home with my family Celebrating. We have got the wii out and play on Just Dance 2. Its so much fun watching my family try and copy the dance moves lol. Well wot ever you are doing i hope you are having a great time.

I just want to wish everyone who reads my blog a Merry Christmas. Next year i will be doing more with my blog so watch out.

Bad blogger

I know i am such a Bad blogger. It has been months since i last blogged and i do feel bad about it. One because there might be people who like to read my blog and two because it is a nice way to go back to a post and see wot i did and said.

There has been so much going on in my life at the moment. In july i moved back home with my Mum and Dad. Things with Shaun woz not working out so we called it a day. It is nice to be home as i dont have to worry about the bills etc but i do miss my little flat and being able to get away if i wanted to. Em and G have also been staying with my Mum and Dad so there has been six of us. Em and G having done there house up from top to bottom and they could not live there with Archie. They have now moved back home just in time for Archies first birthday. There house looks amazing and they have totally changed the look of it.

So now i am just trying to settle being back at home and getting back into my crafting and just being with my family.

I will be back  tomorrow with a full post about Archies birthday.

Art Journaling with Dina Wakley

Well i have had great day today in Harrogate with the lovely Dina Wakley trying my hand at Art Journaling. I have had a go before with Dyan Reaveley at Art from the heart but when i saw that Dina woz coming over to the UK i knew i had to take her class.

 

Shaun had to take me as my Dad could not get the day off work. Shaun decided to bring his brother along so he would not get bored going round harrogate on his own.

Dina woz so amazing the class woz all about texture and layering on are pages. At first we just practise the new techniques from the "toolbox" and then we got to play. Dina decided that she wanted to play

as well which woz kool. It woz great to see Dina doing her stuff i just loved the pages that she made.

The challenge Dina set for us woz to have 25 layers on are page. I tought this would be hard but it woz not and i really enjoyed trying something new. 

Here is a picture of me and Dina at the end of the day. I had such a great time and would love to take a class with her again.

Here are the the layouts that i made today. The one below is the main one i did. After class i asked Dina to sign it for me.

March

Can you belive how fast this year is going?? We are just heading into the month of March and i dont know where the other two months have gone. Only two more days will i travel to Harrogate to go and meet the lovely Dina Wakeley at Art from the heart. I have got a great Boyfriend Shaun who is taken the day off work to take me. Shaun's brother will be coming a long aswell to keep Shaun company while i am getting all messy.

Then on the 13th/14th i will be traveling up to Warrington to go to the Artsy Crafts weekend. This is the first time that they have held this event up north so it should be found. Linda and Leandra are the two lovely ladys that have organized this event.

Mixed Media

Today i had the great pleasure of been able to go and take a class by Claudine Hellmuth at Art from the heart.

I have been having a couple of panic attacks in the last month so i woz really worried that i would not be able to make it today. Thanxs to my mum who always knows wot to say i got there and had a great day. Claudine is lovely she woz chatting to me when i got there and it made me feel loads better. The class woz really good we learned loads of great techniques. Claudine showed us some great techniques which she uses on her collage work. She then gave us a free range to do wot ever we liked on a canvas.

This is wot i came up with.

First thing i did woz to cover the whole canvas with book pages. I then picked a light purple to use as my base colour. Then using the vasaline techniques which is were u rub vaseline in certain places and then using a different colour paint (Teal)going over the whole canvas. Then with a kitchen towelwipe over canvas and this will remove the paint which is sat over the vaseline.This technique will reveal the colour underneath (little purple).The flowers i just made out of tissue paper. I watched a video that Kirsty Wiseman did on you tube but she used fabric. I added a stripe of rub on numbers to the left handside along with some ribbon which i changed the colour of with paint. I love the texture of this canvas and how it comes out. This is a close up look at the flowers

Here is another canvas i did not sure if i like it as much as the first one.

If you have never tryed Claudine's paints? i would recomend them to anyone. I must say they are lovely  to work with. There are 15 colours in all but u can make over 51 with them. There is also two mediums glossy/matt and gesso.

I woz sat next to the lovely Sandra i have never meet her before but she woz so lovely. Its nice to meet new people who are also intrested in the same things as me.

Love is in the Air

Yep its all in the title Love is in the air i dont know if you celebrate Valentines Day but i Love it. It is mine and Shauns first Valentines Day as a couple. We decided that we would not buy anything as we could not really afford it. This is ok with me as i think Valentines Day is more about showing how much you love people and not wot u give them.

I made Shaun a card which he liked. As we were not buying pressents i decided to make Shaun a mini book with photos of use both and i added a couple of poems i liked. Shaun really loved it and said it woz better then anything i could of bought him.

So i decided to do a bit of Valentines Day decorations in the Kitchen. I have been watching some video's on the house of 3 blog and decided to have a go at doing the banner and here is wot i came up with.

I used some Valentines paper from the house of three for this banner aswell as the mini book i created for Shaun. I have not got any photos of the book put will add then on to this post when i do

Happy Birthday Mum

Well today it is Mum's birthday will not tell u her age tho or she would kill me lol. I spent the night at Mum and Dad's so i could spend the day with Mum. We decorated all the lounge with banners and had sprinkes all over the table. did not take any pics of it tho i am so bad. Me and Em spent ages wrapping her birthday presents as we went a bit over board but we wanted to shown just how much we care about her because we would be lost with out her.

This is one of the gifts i bought my Mum its a Willow Tree Figurine called Je t'aime (I love you). I had to get mum this one as she Loves heart and i loved the detail on this figurine.

Mum also got to Canvas pictures one woz of me and Em on Em's wedding day and the other one woz of Jenny my sister on the telephone. Jenny died when she woz 2 years old from cancer i love this picture cos even tho she woz young she all ready knew wot mum is like. Always on the telephone we have this joke that one day we will add superglue to it and then it will be there forever.

2010 Calender

Ok so i am a big fan of Heidi Swapp and last week i watched her webcast recording Heidi Swap webcast about glimmer mist. Heidi has just designed some new glimmer mist colours which are coming out at CHA in Anaheim. Well i have got a couple of glimmer mist and not really known what to do with them. So after i watched the webcast i hopped over to houseof3 and download some digi calenders.

All i did next was to print them out on to white card and glimmer away. there are loads of videos on You Tube if you are not sure wot to do. I may later on do a little video on how to use them.

So these photos dont do the glimmer mist or my calender any justice the glimmer on it looks so kool when you see it in person.

I will be using a lot more of Glimmer mist from now on and will be trying new techniques.

Hello Twenty Ten

Hello twenty ten I can't believe how fast 2009 has gone so much has happened in just a year.I split up with my boyfriend of 4 years I meet someone else who i never thought i would be with (long story will tell you sometime) Have moved out of home and into a flat with my boyfriend. I became Auntie Melly for the first time i did not know how kool it was going to be until the little guy turned up. I have never known so much love for one little guy i love him so much.

So this year i have decided that i really want to try and keep a blog. I have had a blog before but i woz not very good at keeping it up to date but i have decided that i want to document this year and i thought this is the best way.
I dont really make resoulutions but this year i have decided that i need to get myself fit. Also i want to start doing more art/craft so i can sell it. I also fancy getting on a design team as well so if you see any coming up let us know.

December was a very busy month for me as me and my boyfriend Shaun moved into are new flat. We have decorated the bedroom, lounge and bathroom before we moved in but still have the hall and kitchen to do. Will be posting some before and after pictures so watch out for that. It's only up the road from my mum and dad which is good. My sister Em and husband George and baby Archie moved into there new house as well. They just live round the corner so i will be able to walk there and have lunch.

Archie is only 4 months old and i cant believe how fast he is growing you are going to be seeing loads of photos of my little man. He had more pressents then anyone at Christmas we had to keep moving his toys as they were all over the floor.
